Monesiglio

Monesiglio is a small village in Piedmont, Italy, with origins likely dating back to the 2nd century B.C., as attested by archaeological finds such as tombstones and other funerary objects from this period. The village features several civil buildings with carved stone fronts that reflect the medieval style. This well-preserved heritage and architecture attract tourists interested in the region's medieval history and culture.

Exploring the artistic and cultural charm

The village offers a peaceful stay steeped in history. Surrounded by the green hills of Piedmont, it invites visitors to discover its serene atmosphere.

There are medieval buildings in the village, such as the Castle which dominates the landscape with its chapel adorned with frescoes considered to be jewels of late Gothic art, and the parish church dedicated to Saint Andrew the Apostle from the late Baroque period.

Also of interest is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Acqua Dolce, which offers a rich collection of medieval paintings and architecture and is part of the ‘Bormida Gotica’ circuit, which owes its name to the Bormida River that flows next to the town.
